"Treasury does not have enough funds to pay state employees" - Dr. Wijeyedasa Rajapaksha

Colombo (News 1st) Convening a media briefing today (September 12), parliamentarian Dr Wijeyedasa Rajapaksha made a revelation. Rajapaksha stated that based on the information he has, the government treasury does not have sufficient funds to pay the salaries of state employees and is begging for funds from banks and other financial institutions. He further added that their letter of requests have been presented to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission for the TRC has some money. He noted that as of now, the Finance Ministry has requested for Rs.10 billion from the TRC to pay the salaries of state sector employees. "The country has fallen into such a desperate situation", he added.
