COLOMBO (News 1st):- 17 people sustained injuries when two elephants of the Mirihana temple turned unruly during a perahera. The police said that the unfortunate incident had occurred when the perahera was parading the streets last night (September 8).
The injured are currently receiving treatment at the National hospital, Kalubowila Teaching hospital, and the Sri Jayawardenapura base hospital. 12 people including 10 women are receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching hospital. The number of injured victims admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital is three while another two individuals are receiving treatment at the National hospital.
