Special traffic plan for Bambalapitiya from tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st): According to the Police a special traffic plan will be put in place in Bambalapitiya from tomorrow (August 31) until the 10th of September. This is due to an international convention which is to be held near the Bambalapitiya Railway Station. Accordingly, vehicles travelling from Wellawatte to Kolpetty have been instructed to take the right turn onto Haig Road and reach their destination by travelling through Galle Road. Vehicles travelling from Kolpetty to Wellawatte would have to take the left turn onto Palmyrah Avenue and travel through Galle Road. Meanwhile, those travelling in buses to and from the Bambalapitiya Railway Station will able to board their buses opposite Station Road. Further, SP Ruwan Gunasekara also requested vehicles heading towards Colombo to use the Galle Road and vehicles leaving Colombo to use the Duplication Road and avoiding using the Marine Drive as much as possible.
