73-Year-Old Arrested Over Rs. 10 Million Property Fraud

COLOMBO (News1st): A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Rs. 10 million fraud involving the preparation of a forged deed for a property in Barnes Place, Colombo 07.

The arrest was made by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), following a complaint received regarding the alleged fraud.

The suspect, a 73-year-old resident of Kalutara, was arrested yesterday in Kalutara.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect allegedly prepared forged documents relating to the property and subsequently submitted them as part of judicial proceedings.
