Fire erupts in Maragala mountain once again

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A fire has erupted once again in the Maragala mountain reserve in Monaragala. Assistant Director-General of the Disaster Management Centre of the Monaragala district, A. H. Raveendra Kumara states that this is the fifth fire reported due to the prevailing dry weather condition. He further said that the army has also intervened to douse the fire that erupted last evening (August 29). Measures have also been taken to distribute water through bowsers to 52,000 people suffering due to the prevailing dry weather in the Monaragala district.
