Colombo (News 1st): The United National Party has decided to take disciplinary action against Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero and Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. Speaking to the media General Secretary of the UNP Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam noted that the party represented by Venerable Athuraliye Thero has informed us to take disciplinary action in this regard. He said they will take decisions accordingly.

Legal Secretary of the UNP Nissanka Nanayakkara said Wijeyadasa Rajapaksha was elected from the Colombo district and Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero was included in the national list. He noted that both Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero have violated the party’s constitution, therefore, the party has decided to take disciplinary action against them. He noted that as the first step, they will send a show-cause letter to them.
