Highest number of dengue patients reported from Colombo district

Colombo (News1st) - A Dengue Eradication Program scheduled to continue for the next three days, has been launched in the Western Province today (29 August). National Dengue Eradication Unit Community Specialist Dr Prashila Samaraweera stated that the program will be implemented in schools from the 1st of September. Over 42,000 dengue patients have been reported during the past several months. The highest number of dengue cases, which is 8808, have been reported from the district of Colombo. The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health stated that 6388 patients were reported from Gampaha district while 4052  reports were from Kalutara district.
