Son of a prominent NTJ leader arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The son of a prominent leader of the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ), Nawuffer Maulawi has been arrested from Ampara. Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the arrested individual named Mohommad Nawuffer Abdulla had received firearms training in Nuwara Eliya. The name given to the 16-year-old arrested suspect by the NTJ is Abu Hasam. The arrest was made by the Ampara police upon information received by the State Intelligence. The suspect has been identified as a resident of Kukunugolla, Arakyala in Ampara. His father, a prominent NTJ leader is also currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department.
