Amarapura and Ramayana sects to sign the agreement

Colombo (News 1st): The Amarapura and Ramayana sects have agreed to combine the two sects. The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha Prof. Pallekandha Rathanasara Thero said that the agreement on the decision will be signed today (August 16) at 2.30p.m. at the auditorium of the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo. The Thero said that the agreement will be signed by the Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Amarapura sect Most Venerable Kotugoda Dhammawasi Thero and the Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Ramayana sect Most Venerable Naapaane Premasiri Thero. Venerable Pallekanda Rathanasara Thero noted that the following the signing of the agreement the sects will be introduced as the Amarapura - Ramayana Samagree Maha Sangha Sabawa.
