Top US diplomats meet opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Alice Wells and US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz met opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa in the morning. Mahinda Rajapaksa met the two top US diplomats at his official residence. The meeting took place just hours before Mahinda Rajapaksa is expected to announce the presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna at the party's first convention.
