DUI operations : 5497 arrests island-wide

Colombo (News1st) - 235 drivers were arrested during the island-wide 24-hour operation for Driving Under Influence (DUI). Police stated that the operation implemented since 6 a.m yesterday (25 July), continued until 6 a.m today. (26 July) The island-wide raids initially began to apprehend the drivers under the influence on the 5th of this month. 5497 drivers were reported arrested since that morning to 6 a.m today on the charges of DUI. The police stated that the DUI operations are currently in action.
