"SLFP will continue talks with SLPP" : Thilanga Sumathipala

Colombo (News 1st): Sri Lanka Freedom Party MP Thilanga Sumathipala said the SLFP will continue to hold talks with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and have reached an understanding on a key policy which is paramount to both parties. However, he said the SLFP is yet to finalize its decision on a candidate for the upcoming Presidential Polls adding President Maithripala Sirisena is yet to decide if he would contest again. Thilanga Sumathipala went on to say the time is right for both Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena to hold discussions as the heads of both parties which could lead to an alliance being formed.
