11 Chinese nationals arrested with expired visas

Colombo (News 1st): 11 Chinese nationals have been arrested by the Immigration and Emigration Department for illegally remaining in the country.

Assistant Controller of the Investigation Division M.G.V. Kaariyawasam noted that they were arrested while working at a construction site in Colombo 2. 

The suspects aged 40 - 50 are currently residing in the country with expired tourist visas. They are to be detained at the Mirihana detention camp until the investigations are completed.
