COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Navy has taken into custody a multi-day fishing vessel along with 04 Indian fishermen who were illegally fishing after entering Sri Lankan waters.
The apprehension took place during an inspection conducted in the seas north of Delft Island.
Navy Spokesperson, Commander Buddhika Sampath, says that the Navy carried out the search operation last night.
Steps have been taken to hand over the seized vessel and the fishermen to the Jaffna Fisheries Inspector’s Office.
