Attorney General reminds acting IGP to name ex Defence Secretary and IGP suspects

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Attorney General has sent a reminder to acting IGP C.D. Wickremeratne to name IGP Pujith Jayasundara who is on compulsory leave and ex-defence secretary Hemasiri Fernando as suspects over the 04/21 attacks for neglecting their duties and responsibilities. The Attorney General had given the instructions taking into account the evidence directed to him by the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department. The Attorney General stated that according to the evidence, the duo had committed an offence punishable under the Penal Code. The Attorney General's Department revealed that the acting IGP had not responded as to why the instructions were not carried out.
