Five arrested for fishing with explosives

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Navy apprehended five persons who attempted fishing, using explosives in the Kokilai lagoon in Pulmudei. The arrest was made by personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a patrol. The suspects are residents of Pulmude and are between the ages of 27 and 43. Two dinghy boats used for fishing, two OBMs, a water gel charger, a tube of water gel, five non-electric detonators and four safety fuses were also taken into naval custody. The items along with the suspects were handed over to the Pulmude Police for onward legal action.
