4 year old daughter and father drown in Kirinda

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A father and his 04-year-old daughter drowned when they were dragged into the sea by the strong currents in Kirinda, Yala. According to Police, the incident occurred when they had gone to the beach this morning. Police further noted that the mother and the other 8-year-old daughter who were also caught up in the waves are in critical condition and currently receiving treatment at the Emergency treatment unit of Deberawewa hospital. The victims are residents of Hatton and were on a tour when the tragedy struck them. Investigations regarding the incident are currently underway.
