COLOMBO (News 1st) – Over 500 residents of Sengala Illupaiyadichenai remote village survive on livestock farming.

Their livelihood and daily activities go through tremendous hardships due to the prevailing extreme dry weather in the Batticaloa district. Residents in the area and over 1000 cattle suffer each day due to the lack of water for daily needs.

Farmers are desperately questioning their future due to this prevailing crisis and request the authorities to provide a solution immediately. Despite the continuous request for relief to the authorities, the authorities turn a blind eye towards the suffering of these locals.
