Stash of hidden explosives discovered in Kayts

Colombo (News 1st): A stash of hidden explosive material has been found on Thirathivu island in Kayts. The Police Special Task Force said the explosive materials were found in a polythene bag hidden near a bush. 12 kilograms of explosives including TNT and C4, 98 non-electric detonators and several pieces of general service threads were discovered. The Police STF said the items have been handed over to the Kayts Police Station to obtain court orders to destroy them.
