Railway Department has strategy to avoid animal - train collision

Colombo (News 1st): The Department of Railways has planned on constructing over-head tracks and underground tunnel to prevent animals colliding with trains. This is a recommendation made by the committee appointed to make recommendations to prevent elephant–train collisions. Chief of the Committee Engineer Irosh Perera said a pilot project on this recommendation will be planned between Hingurakgoda and Gal-Oya.
