Strict enforcement of full-face helmet regulation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Attorney General has advised the acting IGP that motorcyclists who wear full-face helmets should be arrested and prosecuted for violating the provisions of the Emergency Regulations. The Attorney General said wearing full-face helmets violates the provisions of section 32A of the Emergency Regulations published in Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2123/4 dated May 13, 2019. The Attorney General has advised the acting IGP to enforce the provision of Gazette Notification No. 2007/39 dated February 23rd 2017.
