Colombo (News1st) - The Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) has announced that there is no longer any danger present in using the beach stretching from Mt. Lavania to Dehiwala. Yesterday the authority issued a statement calling on the general public to limit usage of the beach as a black oily residue had washed up along the shore. General Manager of the MEPA Dr. Turney Pradeep Kumara noted that general public could use the beach front at their discretion. He added that the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) will be investigating the residue that was seen yesterday.
