Extraordinary gazette issued to extend emergency regulations

Colombo (News 1st): An extraordinary gazette notification was issued by Secretary to the President Udaya Seneviratne upon the directives of President Maithripala Sirisena further extending the emergency regulations issued on April 22nd for a further period of one month. According to the Gazette, the President had taken measures to this effect in the interest of public security, to preserve public order, and maintain supplies and essential services for the life of the people.
