Suspect arrested for bribing OIC to release NTJ member, remanded

Colombo (News 1st): The man who was arrested for attempting to bribe the OIC of the Horowpathana Police was remanded until the 04th of June by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (May 21). The Magistrate rejected the bail application made on behalf of the suspect identified as Abdul Mohamed. The suspect had offered a bribe to the OIC of the Horopathana Police to grant bail to his uncle who was arrested for allegedly supporting extremist activities. The suspect had initially offered a bribe of Rs. 500,000 and was arrested when he was making a payment of  Rs. 250,000.
