President signs multiple MOUs with China

Colombo (News 1st): A number of agreements between the Chinese Government and Sri Lanka were inked by President Maithripala Sirisena today (May 14). The agreements include Massive investments by the Chinese on the island as well as a number of agreements on the countries national security. Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured President Maithripala Sirisena that he will provide all necessary support for Sri Lanka to eradicate terrorism from the country and ensure national security. The two heads of state met at the Chinese Presidential residence this evening. The Chinese government as per a request made by President Sirisena has agreed to provide a financial grant of 2.6 Billion rupees for the activities of security forces during the emergency situation in the country. The Presidential media division said that the Chinese President agreed to provide 100 Jeeps worth 1.5 billion Rupees to the Sri Lankan Police department immediately. The heads of state also inked a number of MoUs for cooperation between security forces of the two countries. The Chinese President stressed that he condemns all forms of terrorism and expressed his condolences to all the people affected by the April 21st attacks. The Chinese president had stated that he is ready to support Sri Lanka in their journey to rebuild the country following the terrorist attack.
