Remains of missing person found in Matara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Skeletal remains of an individual were discovered yesterday from a cinnamon cultivation in the Maddumagewatte area in Matara. The remains were discovered by an individual who had visited the cultivation, he had then taken steps to inform the Police about the discovery. The remains have been identified by a woman from Diyagaha, Matara as those of her spouse. She had lodged a complaint with the Police on the 18th of last month that her husband was missing from the 8th of April. The remains were moved to the Matara General Hospital for further inspection and police investigations are underway.
