Expect hot weather in northern areas - Met Department

Colombo (News1st) - The Met Department issuing a heat index advisory warned temperatures may increase up to ‘Extreme Caution’ levels in the Trincomalee, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Killinochchi districts, as well as some places in the North-Central province, and the Batticaloa, Ampara and Monaragala districts today. Temperatures could range from 32 to 41 degrees Celsius. The Department requested the public to stay well hydrated and to limit strenuous outdoor activity.
