COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Committee on Parliamentary Affairs is due to meet tomorrow(May 06) to discuss future parliamentary proceedings.
Parliament administration noted that the discussions will focus on the prevailing security crisis in the country and to extend the time allocated for the parliamentary sessions on Tuesday (May 07).
The meeting is to held at 2 pm tomorrow (May 06) under the auspices of the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. The party leaders are due to attend the meeting and they will be informed of the new security protocols implemented in parliament.
Meanwhile, the parliament gallery, which was closed for security measures, will reopen to the public from Tuesday (May 07).
Parliament Administration noted that the police and STF will be deployed to ensure the safety of the parliamentary complex.
