Special transport services for people to return after avurudu

COLOMBO (News 1st) - People who left for New Year vacation to their hometowns are expected to return and to work tomorrow(April 16). News 1st inquired regarding adequate transport facilities from the authorities for their safe return. Sri Lanka Transport Board stated that more than 1500 additional buses are deployed from outstations to Colombo. Meanwhile, the National Transport Commission has made arrangements to deploy additional private bus services for the people travelling from outstations to Colombo, tomorrow (April 16). It was revealed of a scam where passengers were overcharged during the festive season and the National Transport Commission stated that it was not acceptable at all and the public have the right to lodge their complaints via 1955. Meanwhile, The Railway Control Room noted that special train services are also in operation. The Control Room added that the normal train schedule will be in effect from tomorrow(April 16) onwards.
