Weerawansa shows MCC letter with Temple Trees address; US Embassy denies that there is a MCC office in Sri Lanka

Colombo (News 1st): The US Embassy in Sri Lanka says the Millennium Challenge Corporation is a U.S. Government entity and does not have an office in Sri Lanka, although there is a coordinator housed at the embassy. This statement comes as a response to questions raised by News 1st over the MCC. There were concerns raised over the MCC in Sri Lanka after MP Wimal Weerawansa produced a letter in parliament purportedly sent by a person named R. Siriwardena, the national consultant coordinator at the Sri Lankan office of Millennium Challenge Cooperation. The address stated in the letter is "Second floor, New Building, North Wing, Temple Trees, Colombo 03".
