Sri Lanka Cricket fines Dimuth Karunaratne $7500

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Cricket imposed a fine of USD 7,500 on Dimuth Karunaratne for violation of player contract, after he was charged with causing a motor accident while driving under the influence.
The fine is equivalent to the match fee of a test match.
Following court proceedings, Karunaratne's driving license was suspended for three months. He has also agreed to compensate the aggrieved party.
