COLOMBO (News 1st) - MP Udaya Gammanpila expressed his opinion on investigations into the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge, during a media briefing held today(April 01).
Udaya Gammanpila, Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya claimed that the government is least interested in bringing those who were involved in the murder of Lasantha Wickremetunga before justice. He noted that the current premier revealed the perpetrators when he was the opposition leader back in the day, and now they are with him.
He added that the prime minister is not in a position to file court cases against the perpetrators and the investigations into the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge will go around in circles. He finally added that the government is trying to frame others while they aid true perpetrators.
