Court grants permission to detain and interrogate Kanjipani Imran

Colombo (News 1st): The Colombo Additional Magistrate today permitted the Colombo Crimes Division to detain and interrogate underworld figure Mohamed Najeem Mohamed Imran also known as 'Kanjipani Imran' for a period of three months under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The CCD informed court it already obtained permission from the Secretary of Defence to detain and interrogate the suspect for a period of three months. However, the defence counsel objected to the detention and interrogation under the PTA. The suspect will be produced in court again on May 8th.
