Rs 5 billion diamond heist : Interrogations lead to discovery of buried weapons

Colombo (News 1st): Two weapons were discovered following the interrogation of Kelum Indika alias 'Kavuma', who was arrested for the possession of the stolen diamond worth Rs. 5000 million. The diamond was stolen from Pannipitiya. 'Kavuma' was arrested during a raid carried out by the Peliyagoda Divisional Crimes Division. Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the weapons were discovered buried inside the house of one identified as 'Wedi Kande Kasun'.
