Protest in Hambantota obstructs Matara-Kataragama route

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A mob of people engaged in a protest obstructing the Matara-Kataragama main road at Kudawella junction. The protesters demanded that the other suspects involved in the murder of four people in the Kudawella fisheries harbour be arrested. News 1st made inquries regarding the incident from the police. Police stated that four suspects were arrested regarding this incident and further investigations are underway to arrest the other suspects. The News 1st correspondent revealed that the heavy traffic was visible along the Matara-Kataragama main road as a result of the protest.
