USD 500 to be fined from immigrants with no Visa

US$ 500 fine for visa overstay

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The government has decided to fine immigrants US$ 500 for remaining in the country without a visa. State Minister of Internal and Home affairs J. C. Alawathuwala noted that the Department of Immigration and Emigration has been provided with the authority to prepare regulations pertaining to the matter.
