Girl dies in an accident

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A girl was killed in an accident at Boralumankada along the Gampola-Nuwara-Eliya route yesterday(February 27). The accident occurred when the three-wheeler which the deceased was travelling collided with a car which came from the opposite direction. The victim was thrown out of the three-wheeler and she was run over by a bus which followed the three-wheeler. The deceased is 23-year-old Lakmali Jayalath, a resident of Gampola. The injured driver of the three-wheeler was admitted to the Gampola Base Hospital. Drivers of the car and the bus were arrested. The suspects were produced before the Gampola Magistrate Court today(February 28).
