Fifty two harassed domestic workers in Kuwait return to Sri Lanka

Colombo (News 1st): Fifty two women who were subject to various forms of harassment in Kuwait while serving as domestic workers returned to Sri Lanka today (Feb 28). Six of them were serving in Kuwait for more than 6 years while the rest were employed for less than a year. All the women are residents from the North and East. The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment said the women had fled their places of employment and were held at detention centres affiliated with the Sri Lankan mission in Kuwait.
