OIC hit & run : CMC councillor among 8 arrested

Colombo (News1st) - A total of 8 individuals have been arrested in connection to the hit and run which injured the Traffic OIC of Borella Police. The arrested suspects include a CMC councillor, the son of Mahindananda Aluthgamage and the son of a Superintendent of Police. According to Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara the arrested suspects are individuals who were in the Defender involved in the hit and run as well as the individuals who were in the Prado that was traveling behind the Defender. The accident which occurred in the Bambalapitiya area at around 4.30am on Sunday (Feb 24) injured the Traffic OIC of the Borella Police. The officer is currently receiving treatment at the ICU of the National Hospital.
