Four arrested in connection to Borella Traffic OIC hit and run case

Colombo (News 1st) - Three more suspects have been arrested in connection to the accident which injured the Traffic OIC of the Borella Police. According to the Police the arrested suspects had been travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The suspects have been identified as residents of Borelesgamua, Homagama, and Kiribathgoda. The 4 suspects who have been arrested in connection to the accident are due to be produced before the court today. A 27-year-old, a son of a Police SP, was arrested yesterday in connection to the hit and run which injured the Borella Traffic OIC. The suspect, a resident of Malabe, had been returning home from a party. The Police are currently conducting investigations to ascertain whether the arrested suspect drove the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident took place at around 4.30am yesterday (Feb 24) when the police officer was travelling on his motorbike in the Bambalapitiya area. He is currently receiving treatment at the ICU of the National Hospital.
