Journalist assault: Acting OIC of Kopai police released

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The acting Police OIC of the Kopai police has been arrested on suspicion for assaulting a journalist.
The suspect was arrested over a complaint made by the said journalist alleging that the OIC assaulted him when he was investigating an incident where a bus and two motorbikes were set on fire in Kokuvil.
The arrested OIC was released on a surety bail of Rs. 50,000 after he was produced before the Jaffna Magistrate.
