COLOMBO (News 1st) – Rupees 1.6 billion worth of gold jewellery and biscuits were smuggled by nine persons who arrived from Dubai.  BIA customs officials detected the contraband concealed in their baggage.

The suspects who were arrested are believed to be residents of Maradana, Seeduwa, Negombo, Chilaw and Kandy.
