Colombo (News 1st):  A Sri Lankan national was taken into Customs custody at the Bandaranaike International Airport for smuggling cigarettes into the country. Customs Deputy Director Vipula Minuwanpitiya said that the cigarettes are worth Rs. 1.628 million.

The suspect who is a 41-year-old resident of Minuwangoda, arrived in the country from Dubai. The cigarettes were confiscated and the suspect has been released after imposing a fine of Rs. 100,000.
