Colombo (News1st): President of the Lawyers' Collective, Attorney at Law Manoj Gamage commented on a statement made by Patali Champilka Ranawaka which was aired on the 7 o'clock Prime Time News bulletin on our sister channel, Sirasa TV. Gamage noted that he was disappointed by the hilarity of his statement, where he (Patali) notes that as far as extradition laws are concerned, Arjuna Mahendran cannot be brought back to Sri Lanka and new extradition laws should be created. Lawyer Gamage said the irony is that the government that he represents, enter into free trade agreements with Singapore, the country that is providing refuge to Arjuna Mahendran. He went onto note that after encouraging these agreements, he shamelessly comes before the people and says, that Mahendran cannot be brought back and Madush cannot be brought back from Dubai. He pointed out that this is not something the people of this country should pay attention to.
