COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Attorney General's Department claims that legal advice has not yet been sought to bring back the notorious drug peddler "Makandure Madush" and the 25 others who were arrested in a hotel in Dubai. Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya noted that they are ready to provide necessary legal advice whenever required. Meanwhile, the Police said that the Dubai Security forces had obtained blood samples of the arrested suspects. The blood samples were reportedly obtained to confirm whether they had used drugs at the time of their arrest. The Police also said that the suspects have been detained for further interrogations. Makandure Madush and the 25 other suspects were arrested in a hotel in Dubai on the 05th of February. The arrest was made in a joint operation conducted by the Dubai Police and the officers in Sri Lanka. The "Khaleej Times" newspaper had reported that discussions are underway between the officers of the two countries to bring back those arrested.
