Mutual agreement between the TNA and the UNP revealed

MP of the Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front Shivashakthi Anandan says that the current government and the TNA do not have an agreement. However, views expressed by TNA media spokesman MA Sumanthiran and Mave Sebthiraja at two different places, reveals such an agreement. MP Shivashakthi Anandan addressing a public rally noted that they did not impose any conditions when the 2015 Government was formed. While stating that the TNA supported the approval of 3 previous budgets presented by the Government, he revealed that the TNA is also preparing to support the upcoming budget. Anandan also noted that 14MPs of the TNA supported the current administration during the recent political instability, without any conditions. TNA media spokesman MA Sumanthiran says that when a no-confidence motion was brought against Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, several discussions between the latter and TNA took place. Sumathiran clarifies that the propsaed draft constitution presented in parliament yesterday, and the ministerial portfolio of northern development coming under the purview of the prime minister was a result of these discussions. He also revealed that they have arrived at an agreement to work with the prime minister. Meanwhile, leader of the Illangai Thamil Aruazu Kachchi Mave Senadhirajah says that a mechanism that includes the prior discussions with the TNA prior to a cabinet decision has been formed. He pointed out that a committee has been appointed to discuss matters with the government when making decisions. The Leader of ITAK revealed that decisions taken by the cabinet must be taken in consultation with the TNA. He noted that this mechasim is currently active.
