Met department predicts light showers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology forecasts a slight change in the prevailing dry weather. Rainfall is forecasted to occur in the Uva province and in the Batticaloa, Ampara, Matale and Hambantota districts. Showers or thundershowers are most likely to occur at certain areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and the Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm. Fairly strong winds of around 40kmph is expected over the North Western province and in the Monaragala and Hambantota districts. Further misty conditions are expected to occur at certain places in the Sabaragamuwa province in the morning.
