Colombo (News1st): The Criminal Investigations Department informed court today, that investigations into the abduction and forced disappearance of 11 youth from Colombo back in 2008 are almost complete. CID Inspector Nishantha De Silva informed the court that once the remaining investigations are over, the case files will be directed to the Attorney General. He added thereafter indictments will be filed against the 12 suspects including Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake and steps will be taken to file cases against them at the High Court. Lieutenant Commander, Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi of the Sri Lanka Navy & two other Navy personnel who were remanded in this regard were further remanded to the 23rd of January by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage. Today the suspects were produced in an identification parade. The mother and sister of one of the abducted men known as Jegan, identified the 12th suspect in the case, Petty Officer Upul Chaminda. Court ordered the suspects to be produced in an identification parade once again on the 23rd of January.
