Top performers at the Advanced Level Exams 2018

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The results of the G.C.E. Advanced level examination were released last night (December 29). These are the A-listers who displayed the highest performances from the various streams; Biology stream Kalani Samudra Rajapaksa from the Gampaha Rathnawali Balika Vidiyala toped the Biology stream at the Advanced level examination. Ravindu Shashika from D.S. Senanayake college Colombo was placed second while Muhamoud Rismi Muhamoud Hakeem from Zahira College Matale was placed 3rd. Physics stream Placed first in the Physics stream was Chathuni Hansini Wasantha from Visaka Vidiyala Colombo. Chamindu Suran from Richmond College Galle was placed second in the island while Thevindu Janith Wijesekara of Royal College Colombo was placed third. Commerce stream Kasun Induranga of Maliyadeva College Kurunegala was ranked the first in the Commerce Stream. Uchini Ayathma of Ratnawali Girls School in Gampaha was ranked second and Malithi Jayaratne of Museaus College was ranked third. Arts stream Senadi Damya De Silva of Lyceum International School, Panadura was ranked first in the island in the Arts Stream. Sithmi Nimashi of Maliyadeva and Ishani Umesha of Mahamaya Girl's School Kandy were ranked second and third respectively. Engineering Technology stream Pamuditha Yasas Pathirana of Ananda College Colombo was ranked first in the Engineering Technology Stream. Tharindu Heshan also from Ananda College was ranked second in the same stream and Seshan Rangana of Nikawaratiya Mahasen National School was ranked third. Bio-Tech stream Sanduni Piyumasha of the Narandeniya Central College in Kamburupitiya became the first in the island in the BioTech Stream. Mohideen Bawa Risha Mohommed of the Samanthurai Muslim Central College was ranked second and Dilenka Lakmal of the Mahinda Rajapaksa school in Homagama became the third in the biotech stream. 321, 469 students sat for the Advanced Level Examination this year and 160, 907 students qualified to receive university education. Further, the results of 119 students who sat for the examination this year were cancelled.
