Parliament begins

  13.15 pm - TNA MP Sumanthiran calls on Speaker not to change the position of Opposition leader as there is a question about the parliamentary seats of UPFA members who joined the SLPP. 13.09 pm - MPs Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa and Lakshman Seneviratne crossed the well of the parliament and assumed seats in the government side. MPs Indika Banadaranayke and Piyasena Gamage also crossed over and joined the UNF Government.   COLOMBO (News 1st) - Parliamentary session chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya begins. This will be the first time parliament convenes after the swearing in of the new premiere Ranil Wickremesinghe.
